Everything in the world is
connected to each other, from small microbes to earth-revolving satellites.
Great thinkers have tried to put this simple yet unbelievable fact into words
through various concepts and laws like the butterfly effect and Murphy’s law,
to name a few. This interconnection between thoughts and actions writes, what
is known commonly as fate. Thoughts and ideas are the God particles required
for the big bang of actions. From choosing red colour to paint a wall, to
starting a revolution, ideas are the basic necessity for anything and
everything.
Idea
In a democracy, political ideologies are what that
lays the path towards development. The societal changes are just the
by-products when ideologies meet human action. So it is necessary for the chisel to be of the required quality for
the statue named society to look beautiful.
Ideologies are the basis to any field. Feminism,
Darwinism or even racism can be termed as ideologies. When a society is
considered, social ideologies are the key to the upliftment of the backward and
oppressed people in the society. Hindutva and Islamic law/ Sharia are ideologies
that are religious. Will these religious ideologies help in the development of
the society or their respective religions?
The ‘ism’s
Political ideologies should be based on economic and
social factors. Great minds have devised revolutionary concepts like capitalism,
socialism, communism etc. These concepts help us understand the wants of the
people thereby the need of the society. Even though the era of the “ism”s is long
gone, these socio-economical ideologies give the basic guidelines for better
governance. No ideology is utopian. There are various flaws in every ideology,
but at the same time, each tends to uplift the society with its own unique way.
Though contradicting when alone, a right mixture can work out miracles in the
society. In simple colloquial terms, it is better to be an ideological bitch rather than a loyal ‘vati’ or a ‘vat’ (whatever).
India
Even in a caste ridden society like India, societal
upliftment is intertwined with economic development. This was taken into
consideration when India’s first leaders opted for a mixed economy; even though
they were inclined towards erstwhile USSR. Active
socialism and passive capitalism had
led us to the path towards glory in both socially uplifting and economically
developing the world’s second populous country. And also, these socio-economic
ideologies rejuvenated the crashing economy in the form of liberalization.
Being the world’s largest democracy, India and its governments
have an important fundamental duty, to opt for a responsible ideology.
Religious ideologies in power will only influence the government in a
religious way rather than a socio-economic way. This, in turn influences the basic
feature of democracy which will in turn influence me and you, that will lead to
irredeemable consequences. After all, everything in the universe is connected
to one another.
