July 26 - Religion Vs History 

What should have been a highly synchronized relationship has turned out to be the exact opposite. Religion has always, though occasionally successful, tried to overwrite its authenticity by mutilating certain historic facts. And using its name, certain fanatics are undermining foreign scholars who are willing and interested to spend their time and energy to study our country’s rich history and culture. Threatening historians and delivering hate speeches against them is not going to change the past or in fact history. Bullying people into submission has always been their Modus Operandi. The religious bullies have made it their life’s ambition to distort facts to their whims, but truly that’s an exercise in futility.  It’s better if they let people do their jobs. History of a country should only be studied by sons or daughters of the soil is a foolish notion. When a person, outside the religion or a country, studies a particular religion and its culture, they offer a new perspective free from prejudices, with a new pair of eyes. Instead of trying to stop this system, it should be encouraged. Indians should go to other countries and study their history, culture and religions. But alas, we are interested only in the software industries of certain countries.
